Goldfields Community and Legal Centre · Est. 1999

We're a community organisation — not a law firm.

For over 25 years, we've been part of the fabric of the Goldfields — supporting people through difficult times, connecting them with help, and standing up for those who need it most.

Free, confidential, and here for anyone in the Goldfields Esperance Region.

Our Story

We started because people in the Goldfields needed help — and had nowhere to turn.

The Goldfields Community and Legal Centre was established in 1999 because people in this region were dealing with real problems — legal disputes, financial hardship, housing issues — and couldn't afford a private lawyer or didn't know where to go.

Over 25 years, we've grown beyond legal advice to offer financial wellbeing support, men's health programs, migrant settlement services, and community education — because the people we work with don't just have legal problems. They have lives, and sometimes those lives get complicated.

We're funded to serve the community — not to make a profit, not to meet government targets. We're accountable to the people who walk through our door, and that's exactly how we want it.

What we're here to do

Make sure that anyone in the Goldfields Esperance Region who needs legal help or community support can get it — regardless of how much money they have, where they're from, or how complicated their situation is.

What we're working toward

A Goldfields community where no one has to face a legal problem, a financial crisis, or a personal struggle without support. We want to be the organisation people know they can turn to — and trust.

Our regional reach

We're based in Kalgoorlie but we support people across the entire Goldfields Esperance Region — including Boulder, Esperance, and surrounding communities. Distance is not a barrier to getting help.

What we stand for

These aren't just words on a wall. They shape how we work with every person who comes through our door.

People first

We're here for the person in front of us — not the paperwork. Every situation is treated with care and without judgment.

Culturally inclusive

The Goldfields is home to people from many backgrounds. We work with everyone — including migrants, First Nations people, and people from culturally diverse communities.

Access for all

Legal help and community support shouldn't only be available to people who can afford it. We're here to make sure they're not.

Social justice

We work to remove the barriers — cost, language, geography, complexity — that stop people from getting the help they're entitled to.

We don't do this alone

We're grateful to the organisations and funders who support our work and help us keep our services free for the community.
